“Creation Requires Influence”

So, do you think that’s true? If so, who is your influence? Who do you allow to influence your work? And, just as a side note, creating something doesn’t mean it has to be art a song or a movie, it could be that sweet spreadsheet you had to make for work too.

Messy Creativity

When you got your creative juices flowing, does it feel messy? Do you feel like you are all over the place? Is it a nice, neat, compartmentalized process; or a crazy mess fest?

Check out the video below, more thoughts after.

So, agree or disagree? What is your creative process like? Do you have one? Does your creativity just flow? Do you have ways to capture it?

New Frontiers

Check out this short video and see my response after it.

I can’t tell you the last time I’ve felt something call out the creative in me like this video does.

“Maybe the world breaks on purpose, so we can have work to do”.

“They can’t see how frontiers are all around us”.

Do you see the frontiers around you? Are you looking?

Pre-Conference NWLC 2010

Yesterday morning I had the opportunity to share at the National Worship Leader Conference (Pre-Conference). The pre-conference is all about Tech Stewardship and leading well in the tech area of ministry.

Specifically, my talk was about how LCBC Church is using social media.

For those of you that were there, thanks for coming and participating! With this post I wanted to link to my outline and also link to some of the resources I was talking about.

As always, if you have any questions feel free to ask below!

Outline for my talk. (Please excuse any grammatical errors, it was just meant for a reference for me.)

LCBC’s Social Media Guideline

Tools listed in talk:

Here’s the list of books I named.

Finally, check out Inkling Media and ChurchCrunch for great web resources and blogs on how to keep current and learning how to use these tools well.

Update

Forgot to list the texting platforms I mentioned as well.

  • EzTexting – For sending out mass texts to groups
  • PollEverywhere – For doing live texting polls during a church service/gathering.
